Administrative Fellowship

Gundersen Lutheran is currently recruiting for a 2008-2009 Administrative Fellow. The deadline to submit application materials is Friday, Oct. 26.

he Administrative Fellow primarily learns from hands-on experienceThe Administrative Fellowship at Gundersen Lutheran is designed to provide a comprehensive learning opportunity and guided work experience in an integrated healthcare environment for post-graduate candidates who have a career interest in health services administration. The program provides the candidate with advanced study and practical experience through direct exposure and active participation in a variety of medical administrative activities, preparing the Fellow for future leadership responsibilities.

An 18-month core curriculum has been developed offering the Fellow a moderately structured environment with a high level of flexibility. In addition, the Fellow is encouraged to explore areas of interest and allowed detailed study in select areas. The Administrative Fellow primarily learns from hands-on experience, but is also expected to engage in research and/or education in the field of health services. Executive, administrative, and management-level competencies guide the project-based curriculum and provide the Fellow a solid foundation to develop career-enhancing skills.

Throughout the Administrative Fellowship, Gundersen Lutheran commits to:
  • Provide a learning environment that contributes to the Administrative Fellow's education and professional development as well as their understanding of Gundersen Lutheran Health System and its affiliated organizations.
  • Provide the Administrative Fellow an opportunity to acquire and refine important managerial abilities, including verbal, interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Provide the Fellow with ongoing support and evaluation throughout the duration of the position.
  • Provide a direct contribution to the organization through the Fellow's active participation in the development and implementation of projects throughout the organization.
  • Provide support for the development of research and teaching experiences for the Fellow.
