Gundersen Lutheran’s vision correction team is an experienced and dedicated group of professionals. Drs. Christopher Born, Paul Kuck, and Matthew Runde are the Tri-State area’s leading laser vision surgeons. They have more than 20 years and thousands of eyes worth of experience correcting vision.
The latest technology
In 1995, Gundersen Lutheran installed the first excimer laser in Western Wisconsin. Since that time, we have helped thousands of patients enjoy better vision without glasses through laser vision correction. In the past five years alone, Gundersen Lutheran has invested more than one million dollars in technology to allow more people to enjoy better vision. This new state-of-the-art technology includes all-laser flap creation; Allegretto Wave® laser technology that allows us to personalize treatment for each patient’s unique eyes; and eye-tracking technology that ensures safe, accurate treatment. We have also added phakic implants and clear lens surgery for patients who are not candidates for laser vision correction.
Is there a vision correction procedure for you? Your eyesight prescription, occupation, leisure activities, age and personal expectations all determine whether you should consider a vision correction procedure. You must have realistic expectations and understand that vision correction outcomes vary among patients.
For most people, vision correction procedures offer a 95% or greater chance of achieving normal or near-normal vision without glasses. A very small number of patients require thin glasses for certain activities, such as night driving. Reading glasses may be necessary if you are over 45-50 years old.
Learn more We have free, no obligation evaluation/consultations, in which you will learn if you are a candidate for one of the refractive procedures we do at Gundersen Lutheran's Eye Institute.
