Holiday cards...

All aboard! Courtland Decker’s colorful holiday train appears on this year’s card.

The inspiration for the design of the 2009 Children’s Miracle Network® Holiday Card was a teenager’s desire to share a favorite family tradition. “We usually go to see the Holiday Train every year,” says 15-year old Courtland Decker. “It’s a fun part of our year, something we really enjoy.” Courtland’s colorful drawing of the festive train was selected to become part of another special tradition: the 23rd annual holiday card produced to support Children’s Miracle Network®.

This young artist’s creative talent will be on display at select retailers throughout the region this holiday season. Proceeds from Children’s Miracle Network® Holiday Card sales help support services to children and their families who are coping with medical challenges due to illness or injury. Empire Screen Printing in Onalaska is a proud partner in this project, donating time and materials to bring each year’s design to life. In 2008, card sales exceeded $6,900; it is expected that 2009 will be another great year, thanks to Courtland’s
joyful interpretation of a fun family tradition.
