We set record numbers A record 3,700 walkers “stepped out” with family and friends, many sporting special team shirts or signs in honor of loved ones. 300 volunteers also walked, registered and acted as guides along the walking trail. An estimated 150 more vendors and entertainers took part in the event bringing the grand total to around 4,150 participants. Then numbers surpassing last year’s phenomenal success (more than 3,400 walkers raising $230,000 dollars in 2007) was a challenging task, but the spirit of the community came through with even more people participating and raising an estimated $250,000 exceeding this year’s goal.
