Day 4 - April 9, 2009
This program will provide information needed by novice infection control practitioners in any setting. An associate infection control practitioner (AICP) is an expanded professional staff role that focuses on infection control issues within the Gundersen Lutheran healthcare system. The curriculum will include sections on:
- Surveillance and Epidemiology
- Microbiology
- Infectious Disease
- Patient Care Issues
- Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization
- Employee Health
- Management/Change Theories
- Education
At the completion of the program the participant will have basic information needed to support infection control activities specific to area of clinical expertise.
Nursing contact hours
Gundersen Lutheran, Inc. is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Wisconsin Nurses Association Continuing Education Approval Program Committee, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
In order to be awarded nursing contact hours you must:
- Register for the program
- Watch the entire video for the each session.
- Complete and submit the evaluation tool for the session.
- Successfully complete and submit the exam for the session. Exams will be corrected monthly.
- The number of contact hours granted will depend upon the sessions completed. See Schedule for contact hour(s) associated with each session.
- A Certificate of Attendance will be presented at the end of the program for the sessions attended by November 1, 2010.
