- Urgent Care for minor illnesses or injuries that need prompt medical attention, but do not pose an immediate, serious threat to the patient’s health. The Gundersen Lutheran – Onalaska Clinic is not equipped with a Trauma & Emergency Center (TEC). Patients who suffer serious or life-threatening illnesses or injuries should call 911 or go directly to TEC in La Crosse or the nearest emergency center.
Patients who aren’t sure where they should go for medical care can consult the Gundersen Lutheran Nurse Advisor by calling (608) 775-4454 or (800) 858-1050. Specially trained registered nurses staff the free service 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can help patients decide whether they need emergency or urgent care, if a future appointment is appropriate or if they can handle the problem at home with advice. |
