Most young patients at the Gundersen Lutheran Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders have healthier futures because of a comprehensive approach that offers state-of-the-art medical care and more. The Pediatric Cancer & Blood Disorders department, which has been caring for children since 1970, provides services to patients from birth into young adulthood.

As the premier referral center for children with cancer and blood disorders in the Tri-state Region, the expert staff aims to improve the understanding of pediatric hematology/oncology disorders through clinical and scientific based research. Children with cancer get the latest and best treatments by enrolling in clinical trials sponsored by the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a national childhood research coalition. Through COG, Gundersen Lutheran collaborates with other institutions committed to identifying more effective cancer treatment methods. As a result, children, adolescents and young adults treated at Gundersen Lutheran receive the same promising therapy close to home that's offered anywhere in the country.
