Physical therapy is an important part of the treatment for osteoporosis. Gundersen Lutheran physical therapists have specialized training in the treatment of osteoporosis. Our team will provide you with a thorough assessment of your physical abilities and limitations. After the evaluation, an individualized physical therapy program will be designed including education in:
  • Activities of daily living
  • Body mechanics
  • Posture
  • Balance
  • Fall prevention
  • Gait
  • Flexibility
  • Strengthening
  • Pain control

The following websites are available if you wish to learn more about osteoporosis:
  • Gundersen Lutheran Health Information
  • U.S. Department of Health & Human Services
  • National Osteoporosis Society
  • National Women’s Health Resource Center
  • National Osteoporosis Foundation

Or borrow a book from the John & Nettie Mooney Health Resource Center in the Clinic lobby. We recommend, Stand Tall -- Every Woman's Guide to Preventing and Treating Osteoporosis.
